Karachi: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party has stated that everyone must abstain from political point scoring in the tying times in the aftermatch of coronavirus outbreak in Pakistan.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, chairman PPP urged the public to take necessary precautions and abide by the restrictions imposed by government. Bilawal Bhutto stated the importance of coordinated efforts to tackle the virus outbreak and this is an inappropriate time to criticize Prime Minister Imran Khan as the center and provinces need to streamline their efforts to contain COVID-19 threat.
In addition, Sindh government has announced to establish a large-scale quarantine facility at Expo center Karachi to ease the burden on hospitals as their operational capacity have been severely burdened.
Chairman PPP appreciated the efforts of health workers who have been working round the clock to contain the pandemic. He further demanded that a country-wide lockdown must be enforced to effectively contain the virus pandemic.
Mr. Bhutto has reiterated his government’s resolve to help the affectees and the provincial government will be responsible for providing food supplies to the poor as they self-isolate at home.
Earlier, Sindh government has implemented a 15-day partial lockdown, while educational institutes have been closed till May 30 as coronavirus cases have reached a tally of 213 in the province.
