Balochistan government has allowed the resumption of public transport operations across the province after a gap of three months.
An 18-point standard operating procedures (SOPs) has been issued by the provincial government abiding the transporters and passengers to practice social distancing measures and coronavirus preventive measures necessary to curb the virus spread.
“Government of Balochistan is pleased to allow Inter-provincial/Inter-District Public Transport with immediate effect until further orders,” read the notification issued by Balochistan government’s Home and Tribal Affairs Department on Sunday June 7th.

As per the government advisory, buses will be disinfected, passengers will not be seated side by side and will be screened for fever before boarding the bus.
Furthermore, passengers and transporters will be obligated to ensure the use of face masks and hand sanitizers, moreover buses will not be allowed to fully utilize their passenger capacity.
The 18-seater vehicles will be limited to 10 passengers, meanwhile taxi cars will be allowed to entertain only three passengers at a time.
It is to be noted that Balochistan has reported a total of 6,516 coronavirus cases with 2,313 recoveries and 54 deaths so far.
