The Balochistan government has announced its decision to impose a partial or ‘smart lockdown’ in the province till May 19.
As per the notification issued by the provincial government, shopping malls, markets, stores, outlets, warehouses, depots and auto workshops will be allowed to conduct business between 3 pm to 5 pm throughout the week.
Meanwhile tandoors, grocery shops and pharmacies will be allowed to operate round the clock, whereas restaurants will be only allowed to offer takeaway and home delivery services.
The notification also maintained that all the other previous restrictions and lockdown directives up till May 4, will remain intact and will be strictly implemented across the province and strict legal action will be taken against those found guilty of violating the lockdown instructions.
Businessmen, traders and the masses in-general have been advised to strictly adhere to the healthcare guidelines recommended by medical experts. People have been instructed to ensure the provision of face masks and hand sanitizers at any given moment.
Balochistan has reported a total of 1,876 confirmed coronavirus cases, with 222 recoveries and 24 deaths so far.
