Azerbaijani citizens in a show of respect and gratitude displayed Pakistani and Turkish flags in the country’s capital city Baku on Saturday (today).
Pakistani and Turkish flags were seen displayed on an apartment building in Baku – capital city of Azerbaijan.
Ali Alizada – Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, took to social media to and shared a picture showing Turkish and Pakistani flags being displayed at an apartment building in the country’s capital.
The development comes as earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Office in a statement on Friday, raised concerns over e deteriorating security situation in Nagorno-Karabakh region.
The intensive shelling by Armenian forces on civilian populations of Azerbaijan is reprehensible and most unfortunate. This could compromise peace and security of the entire region. Armenia must stop its military action to avoid further escalation, said the press-release issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Armenia and Azerbaijan are currently involved in an armed conflict over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region contested by both countries.
Pakistan has overtly supported Azerbaijan’s position on Nagorno-Karabakh, which is in line with the several unanimously adopted United Nations Security Council resolutions.
