Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a special documentary titled ‘Azaadi’ to commemorate Kashmir Solidarity Day and Kashmiris’ struggle for their right to self-determination over the past seven decades.
According to ISPR, “Azaadi”, is the principle demand of the people living under siege. Around 12 million Kashmiris are denied rights to a promise made 73 years ago, the right to self-determination; a right guaranteed in the Indian Partition Plan, in the UNSC resolutions and in the Indian constitution.
ISPR highlighted that with the abrogation of Article 370, the promised rights of Kashmiris are under extreme threat. A relentless fascism sweeps the state of India which is hell-bent on changing demographics in Kashmir under Narendra Modi led BJP government.
The six-minute long documentary accentuates dystopian and inhumane policies implemented by Indian government in the disputed valley to suppress Kashmiris’ dissent and their legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination.
