Former president Asif Ali Zardari secured pre-arrest bail in New York apartment case on Wednesday (today).
As per details, PPP co-chairman had approached Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking pre-arrest bail in New York apartment case filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against him.
Approving the bail plea, IHC has granted pre-arrest bail to Asif Ali Zardari directing him to submit surety bonds worth Rs 500,000.
Prior to this the court had rejected Asif Ali Zardari’s pre-arrest bail plea contending that the applicant himself must be present for the court to approve his petition.

The court has barred NAB from arresting the former president in this particular case directing the watchdog to file its reply to his bail plea on next hearing.
The development comes as earlier, NAB had issued a questionnaire to Asif Ali Zardari seeking detailed information regarding his alleged apartment in Manhattan, New York USA.
This notice hinges around the property at the Belaire, 524 East 72nd Street, 37F, Manhattan, New York, United States. there appears no lawful remittances by you from Pakistan for the acquisition of the said property as well. In view thereof, you are requested to provide detailed answers to the enclosed questionnaire along with supporting information/documents concerning the subject Apartment in New York City, United States,” read the NAB notice.
