An accountability court has issued arrest warrants for PML-N leader and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in Toshakhana (national depository) case on Friday.
As per the details, a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court heard the Toshakhana case against former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Yousaf Raza Gillani and former president Asif Ali Zardari.
During the hearing, the court issued arrest warrants for ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif on NAB’s request which has urged the court to issue arrest warrants for the three ex-premiers along with Omni Group Director Abdul Ghani Majeed.
Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani was the only one who appeared before the court, as Nawaz Sharif is in London. Whereas Asif Ali Zardari did not attended the hearing on health grounds.
His lawyer, Asad Abbasi advocate cited health concerns and announced that an exemption plea will be filed for this purpose.

The NAB had filed a reference with the accountability court against the ex-premiers for not depositing luxury vehicles and valuable gifts received from the foreign leaders in the treasury and utilizing them illegally for their personal use.
Furthermore, NAB has also accused Asif Ali Zardari of using fake bank accounts to pay for the cars, and paying only 15 per cent of the total cost of the cars.
