Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa met with Pakistan’s ambassador to United Nations (UN) – Munir Akram and mulled over regional security situation on Thursday (today).
As per details, Ambassador Munir Akram – Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to UN, called on COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquarters (GHQ) Rawalpindi.
During the meeting, the two mulled over matters of mutual interests, overall regional security situation, including the Afghanistan reconciliation process and Kashmir dispute.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa praised UN mission’s role and efforts in the service of Pakistan.
Prior to this, COAS had visited National Defence University (NDU) Islamabad a day earlier. During his visit the Army Chief had reiterates Pakistan’s continuing commitment and support for Afghan Peace Process warning against ‘spoilers’ aiming to destabilize the region.
Dilating upon pon the evolving strategic and regional environment, the Army Chief had reiterated that Pakistan stands for peace within and all around, as it looks forward to acting as a bridge between regions.
