KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Transport Awais Qadir Shah said that the provincial government will not allow train operations in Karachi.
The statement comes after the press conference if the federal minister for railways, in which he announced to resume train services partially across the country.

Addressing Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Sindh’s minister for transport said that “as for now, there won’t be any train operation in the city.” He said that the provincial government is worried about its public, however, all Ahmed cares about is railway. “If train operation kicks off, it will be very difficult to control the coronavirus,” he said adding that Karachi is a very big city, where people of all the provinces reside.
“Sheikh Rasheed is more interested in train operations that public health,” he said. If the train operation resumes, there will be rush at railway platforms. “Sheikh sahib, if you are not dependent on provinces, provinces are not dependent on you either”, he added.
The provincial minister further said that Eid is around the corner, if train operations resume, the COVID-19 cases will increase to 0.1 million.
