Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed on Thursday, downplayed crowd strength and stressed upon the evident lack of popular support for Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM)’s anti-government stance and rallies.
In a statement, Railway Minister Sheikh Rasheed stressed upon that opposition’s lack of public support will be unearthed within near future.
The federal minister said that PDM lacks crowd strength and will soon diminish by December 31st. Meanwhile expressing his views on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam’s strength from madressa students, Sheikh Rasheed acknowledged that students from various seminaries will in-fact be the backbone of PDM’s show of force.
The minister hoped that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto will reasonably heed to the politically charged environment and ‘act responsibly’ in the matters pertaining to anti-government movement.
Furthermore, Sheikh Rasheed predicted country’s politically charged environment to cool down to normal by February 2021 next year.
However, he reiterated that the efforts of armed forces have neutralized nefarious foreign agenda aimed at destabilizing Pakistan.
Questioning Nawaz Sharif’s insistence on civilian supremacy, Sheikh Rasheed highlighted that the former was himself ‘groomed’ by Zia-ul-Haq, a dictator and that he has no political future following his criticism of armed forces.
