Karachi’s Abbasi Shaheed Hospital is set to provide free of cost COVID-19 testing facility to Karachiites.
According to details, Karachi’s Abbasi Shaheed Hospital falls under the administrative jurisdiction of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), and therefore Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar is expected to inaugurate free coronavirus testing service today (Thursday).
The free testing facility will prove to be significantly beneficial for the residents of District Central which includes localities of Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Liaquatabad, Federal B area, Karimabad, Sharifabad, Sakhi Hassan, Buffer Zone, North Karachi and others.
Furthermore, a special ward for coronavirus patients will also be established at the hospital, with the capacity to cater 48 adults and 26 children at any given time.

It is to be noted that National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is bearing the expenses for the establishment of coronavirus ward at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
In addition to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Karachiites can get tested for coronavirus at seven other facilities which include DUHS Ojha, CHH,PMDC KU, JPMC, SIUT, Indus Hospital and Civil Hospital.
