LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar gave a green signal to allowing flow of public transport in the province.
CM Punjab asked the government officials to provide a plan laying out the Standard Operating Procedures, after a meeting with transporters today, which will be conducted by provincial Law Minister Raja Basharat, and will take place around 3pm.
The provincial government will then take the Centre into confidence about the SOPs and its measures regarding the decision to allow public transport to operate.
According to sources, the transport will be both intra-city and inter-city.
An earlier report presented before the CM Punjab highlighted the problems of the common people intensified due to the lockdown and curbs on public transport. It stated that the people were forced to use private vehicles on exorbitant rates.
In the light of problems faced by the public, Punjab government has decided to allow public transport.
