Allama Iqbal is being remembered on his 82th death anniversary, this year no public gathering will be held amid coronavirus.
Muhammad Iqbal was born 9 November 1877 in Sialkot, Punjab. He was attributed as poet of the East and ideological founder of Pakistan.
His services are acknowledged for getting a separate homeland for the Muslims of subcontinent.
His death anniversary is usually observed nationwide, numerous memorial events are organized to mark the day, with special programmes aired on the state-run and private radios and TV channels, highlighting various aspects of greatest philosopher of is times.
This year, no event will be organized but nation has already started paying tribute to their beloved founding leader and the poet through social media.
His poetry has been translated in Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and English including several other languages.
He struggled hard for the foundation of a separate homeland for Muslims but unfortunately he took his last breath on 21 April 1938 and couldn’t see his ideology become reality. He was laid in the garden between the Lahore fort and Badhshahi Masjid. His grave stone is now a part of greater Iqbal Park.
