Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has reaffirmed that all pilots currently operating airliners in Pakistan have been scrutinized and have cleared the screening process regarding fake credentials concerns.
Addressing a press conference along with SAPM Shahzad Akbar regarding matters pertaining to the issue of fake licenses and credentials of pilots, the federal minister reassured that all pilots who are currently operating airliners in Pakistan have successfully cleared due screening and scrutiny process and passengers should not have any doubt over safety issues.
“Anyone travelling right now should know that pilots flying right now have gone through the scrutiny process. They shouldn’t worry,” he noted.
Shibli Faraz also defended the government’’s decision to public the PK-8303 crash report which revealed the grim issue of fake credentials within Pakistani aviation industry, and stated that the PTI government, unlike previous governments, is determined to fulfil its commitment of ensuring transparency and merit in institutions under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

In addition to it, SAPM Shahzad Akbar stated that the issue of fake credentials in aviation industry has been raised in cabinet which will then decide over the cancellation of dubious licenses and formulate and implement a comprehensive mechanism and policy to tackle the issue.
