Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani on Friday, announced that all classes below VIII grade will be resumed from September 28th under strict COVID-19 preventive measures and SOPs.
Addressing a press-briefing Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani announced that all classes below VIII grade will be allowed to resume from September 28th.
The resumption of classes is subjected to both primary and secondary levels.
“Now as we resume the reopening of schools, Sindh has decided that very strict enforcement of safety measures will be ensured,” said the minister.
Earlier, Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, citing COVID-19 threat, had opposed resumption of classes, especially at primary level.
Dr Pechuho had argued that coronavirus crisis is not over and warned off another second COVID-19 wave as the infection rates have increased to 3 per cent from the previous 1.5 per cent.
It is pertinent to know that Sindh government had postponed the reopening of schools which were initially scheduled for reopening from September 21st.
The decision to further extend the deadline for schools’ reopening was made after several students, faculty and non-teaching staff had tested positive for the novel virus across the province.
