Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi has filed a contempt of court petition in Sindh High Court (SHC) against Sindh government for its failure to release various JIT reports against court orders.
According to details, Ali Zaidi has urged SHC to indict Sindh government with contempt of court over its failure to publicize the Joint Investigation Reports (JIT) of Liyari gang war leader Uzair Baloch, Baldia factory fire and Nisar Morai – former Fishermen’s Cooperative Society chairman.
Ali Zaidi has contended that Sindh government, against court orders, has intentionally failed to publicize JIT reports of various key incidents and criminals.
The suspects and individuals involved in these cases have confessed to governmental and party figures being involved in illegal activities and therefore PPP led Sindh government has not yet released their JIT reports, he added.
The federal minister has also written to the chief secretary Sindh citing Sindh High Court (SHC) orders, in which the court has specifically directed the provincial government to release the JIT reports as the public has the right to know the facts behind such incidents and crime syndicates.
