Islamabad: Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan has announced to donate his one month salary to contribute in government’s effort in helping the poor affected by nation-wide lockdown.
Besides the Air Chief, officers of the rank of Air Commodore and above would donate their three days salary; whereas, the officers of Group Captain and below ranks would donate two days salary in the national cause.
Moreover, airmen and civilians would also chip in their one day salary in the Corona Relief Fund.
In another instance, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has also announced a donation of Rs 5 million for the provision of ration to poor masses in Swabi district.
Speaker National Assembly has condemned the hoarding of essential house hold items and urged the public to not indulge in panic buying as the country has sufficient stocks.
“The provincial and federal governments are standing with you,” he assured. Asad Qaisar also appealed to philanthropists to come forward and help the poor in this crisis and help save humanity.
Earlier, top officials of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had announced a voluntary cut in their salaries of up to 20 per cent.
