Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday, hosted Chairman of Afghanistan’s High Council for National Reconciliation – Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and highlighted the significance of Afghan Peace process for both countries.
During the meeting, FM Qureshi expressed his hope for improved bilateral cooperation between the two countries in future and said that the visit will open a new chapter in bilateral ties and will further strengthen relations with Afghan nation, forging a common understanding on Afghan peace process.
Furthermore, the minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s support and commitment in support of the peace process and contended that there is no military solution to Afghan conflict.
Qureshi also urged all parties to reach a political solution through an Afghan-led & Afghan-owned process.
In addition to it, the Afghan premier also planted a sapling at Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It is to be noted that Dr. Abdullah Abdullah arrived visit Islamabad on Monday (today). Upon his arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah was received by Abdul Razak Dawood – Adviser to Prime Minister of Pakistan for Commerce and Investment.
The Chairman Afghanistan High Council for National Reconciliation is on a three-day visit to Pakistan and is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi and other senior state officials.
