Veteran Pakistan actor Khalid Butt breathed his last on Thursday in Lahore after a prolonged ailment. He had been suffering from liver and kidney diseases.
Butt, who has graced the TV screens of the country for decades. He also performed in numerous films, but the drama would be his last appearance on TV.
Family sources said that the actor’s funeral prayer would be offered after Asr prayer on Friday.
The ace actor started his career in 1970s and presented his talent as a skilled artist through serious and comedy roles in different Urdu and Punjabi language movies and TV shows.
The government also honoured Butt with the Prize of Performance Award for his services to the entertainment industry.
His illustrious career was full of memorable performances in famous drama serials like Teesra Kinara, Neelay Hath, and Boota From Toba Tek Singh.
Besides showing his acting prowess, the acclaimed artist also ventured into direction.
Butt is survived by his widow, two sons, and two daughters.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Butt’s fellow actor Sohail Ahmed prayed for higher ranks of the deceased.
