Renowned educationist and Dean of School of Media and Communication, UCP Lahore, passed away on Wednesday.
The deceased was being in a local hospital and was put on ventilator last night as his health deteriorated. However, he succumbed to his illness on Wednesday (today).
Dr Mughees started his teaching career as a lecturer at Gomal University’s Department of Mass Communication in 1976 and taught there for another 28 years.
Furthermore, he served as Director Institute of Communication Studies (2006-2009), Director Institute of Communication Studies (2004-20011).
Currently he was serving as Dean and Professor, School of Media and Communication Studies at University of Central Punjab (UCP).
Dr Sheikh was acknowledged Mass Media Laureate/XVIth Star Award 2005, Leader of the New Millennium Gold Medal/XVIIth Star Award 2006 and the Star Laureate Award/XVIIIth Star Award 2007 by South Asia Publications.
For his invaluable services to the academic sector, Dr Mughees also received Presidential award Izaz-e-Fazeelat in 2009.
