The World Health Organization (WHO), intends to dispatch a team to China to investigate COVID-19 coronavirus origins.
Addressing a virtual press conference WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that it is crucial that the origins of the virus be determined and investigated into.
“We will be sending a team next week to China to prepare for that and we hope that that will lead into understanding how the virus started,” he noted.
According to Mr Tedros, the world has a better chance at fighting the virus if we know everything about it and how it started.
The WHO Director General has not revealed any specific details regarding the team that will be sent to China. He also warned that the virus spread has speed up and that the ‘worst is still to come’, he noted.

It is to be noted that the total tally of coronavirus cases stands at 10.3 million, with 5.21 million recoveries and more than 500,000 deaths so far.
