Emirates – one of the leading airlines of the world, has temporarily suspended its flight operations from Pakistan citing coronavirus concerns.
According to the Emirates spokesperson, the airline has suspended its flights from Pakistan from June 24 Wednesday (today).
“Following the announcement of positive Covid-19 cases in Hong Kong relating to certain passengers who travelled on our flights, Emirates has taken the decision to temporarily suspend passenger services from Pakistan, from June 24,” read the statement issued by the airline.
The passenger flights will remain suspended till next week, meanwhile cargo flights and special repatriation flights will continue as per the schedule, the statement added.

The development comes as 26 passengers had tested positive for coronavirus on Emirates flight to Hong Kong on June 20.
Prior to this, South Korean government had also banned the entry of passengers from Pakistan and Bangladesh after several people who arrived in South Korea from these countries tested positive for COVID-19.
