National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has reaffirmed that the tropical cyclone ‘Nisarga’ poses no serious threat to Pakistan’s coastal areas.
According to the notification issued by NDMA, the tropical cyclone ‘Nisarga’ in East-central Arabian Sea has intensified and is at a distance of around 1,100 kilometers southeast of Karachi.
NDMA has also warned fishermen to abstain from venturing in deep sea till June 4.
“Tropical cyclone (TC) is likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm (SCS) and move towards initially and then re-curve north-eastwards toward south Gujarat coast, India,” read the notification.

“Currently none of Pakistan’s coastal areas are under threat from this system,” it added.
