In a first, bulk-cargo ship of Afghan Transit Trade reached Gwadar this week, says Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting, Lieutenant General (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa.
Asim Saleem Bajwa took to social media to announce that MV Manet, the first bulk cargo ship as part of the Transit Trade with Afghanistan has reached Gwadar delivering wheat and urea.
“First bulk-cargo ship “MV Manet” carrying wheat and urea reached Gwadar this week,” he tweeted.

The development comes as Abdul Razak Dawood – Advisor to Prime Minister on commerce and investment, had earlier announced the operationalization of Gwadar port for Afghan Transit Trade under Afghanistan–Pakistan Transit Trade Agreement (APTTA).
The move to utilize Gwadar port for such trade activities is expected to create thousands of job and employment opportunities for the local population improve the living standards of the people of Balochistan.
