Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday, turned downed the petition seeking to ground entire Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) fleet following PK-8303 crash.
According to details, two-judge bench of SHC headed by Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar heard the petition regarding air crash incidents Pakistan, after the petitioner filed an application for an urgent hearing for the plea which was originally filed back in 2016.
The petitioner had contended that PIA’s entire fleet must be grounded following PK-8303 crash to ensure the safety of passengers and avoid any further loss of life.
During the hearing, attorney general appeared before the court and informed the bench that an inquiry is underway and its report will be made public on the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Furthermore, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials also attended the hearing and submitted an initial report regarding 2016 PIA aircraft PK-661 crash.
Justice Mazhar remarked that the court cannot issue any order or notification as the crash investigation is still underway.
The case has been adjourned till June 25.
