Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to launch Ehsaas Emergency Cash programme for providing assistance to the people facing unemployment due to coronavirus crisis, today.
According to details, around 3.4 million people have applied for unemployment benefits via Ehsaas Labour Portal. PM’s Corona Relief Fund has raised more than Rs 3 billion via donations, whereas the government will give a subsidy of Rs 3 on every rupee collected in the relief fund to help the people suffering from the economic repercussions of coronavirus crisis.
Prior to this, Prime Minister Imran Khan had inaugurated Ehsaas Labour Portal to provide financial assistance to the labour force of the country, who have been the worst hit sector amid COVID-19 crisis.
It is to be noted that the federal government’s Rs 144 billion Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme aims at providing Rs 12,000 to 12 million families (72 million individuals) in wake of the grim economic repercussions of coronavirus pandemic.
