ISLAMABAD: Pakistan conducted 14,878 Covid-19 tests during the last 24 hours — the highest number of tests in a single day so far, the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has been told.
Chairing the NCOC meeting on Saturday, 0Minister for Planning, Development Reforms and Special Initiatives Asad Umar said that the country’s testing capacity has increased by 30 times since the emergence of the pandemic.
“There were only two labs which could conduct coronavirus tests in mid-March, while currently there are 70 functioning labs which could conduct tests.”
The federal government had earlier announced to have the capacity of conducting 20,000 tests per day across the country.
