Pakistan is expected to attend the virtual meeting Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s (SCO) council of foreign ministers.
According to sources, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will participate in the virtual meeting via video link. The meeting will discuss the situation of COVID-19 pandemic and its socio-economic repercussions.
The meeting of foreign ministers of various countries will assist in formulating a uniform policy to curb the virus spread along with cooperated response to the pandemic impacts on SCO members.
It is to be noted that SCO is a Eurasian political, economic, and security alliance, on 15 June 2001 in Shanghai aimed at promoting cultural, economic, socio-political and security cooperation among the member states. Its fulltime members include China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan.
