Most of parents are seriously negligent regarding birth registration of their newborn babies up to 15 years. This was told by experts during an awareness session which was held at Sindh Government Hospital Korangi 5 under the supervision of Additional Medical Superintendent Dr. Syed Imdad Ali Shah in collaboration with UNICEF, Local Government Department and Health Department.
This session was about the importance of data of birth registration and civil registration CRVS. In this context, birth registration of children is inevitable.
In this important event, Muhammad Babar Ali (Project Manager), Dr. Anisur Rehman (MS), Dr. Akhtar (ADHO), Rehana Manzoor (BRF), Dr. Sana Fatima informed about birth registration and CRVS.
Speakers urged that birth registration is very important for a child and it should be registered immediately after the birth of the infant. Soon, Sindh Local Government will start free birth registration of newborns up to 90 days (3 months).
Later, in a conversation with the media, Dr. Sana Fatima said that in our society parents show negligence in registering the birth of children. Despite passing long time parents didn’t register infants at all, this practice will harm the children in their future. Therefore, parents should show fulfil their responsibility and register the child’s birth immediately after the birth.
