Kalki 2898 AD is doing quite well at the box office in its Hindi version. After a very good opening day [Rs. 22.50 crores] which was the second best of the year after Fighter [Rs. 24.60 crores], the film is now coming on its own with the second day collections turning out to be impressive as well. The film didn’t see any drop whatsoever and instead collected Rs. 23.25 crores, which is really nice. As a result, the two day total stands at Rs. 45.75 crores.
Typically, films do drop from Thursday to Friday, especially when both are regular days. However, that was not the case here which goes on to show that there is something in there for the audiences, which is actually working. Of course it’s the all-important Monday that would be the deciding factor for the longevity but the collections over the first two days has set the film quite positively and it’s now a given that while today it will certainly cross Rs. 20 crores mark again, tomorrow it would be aiming for Rs. 30 crores.
While the first three day collections of the Prabhas starrer will go past Salaar [Hindi] [Rs. 51.50 crores], they would be neck to neck with Saaho [Hindi] [Rs. 79.08 crores]. As for Adipurush, the film won’t be aiming to reach its three day numbers [Rs. 103 crores] after an extended weekend of 4 days, hence showing yet again how the Ramayana adaptation was a rage at least from the opening standpoint, before it crashed out.
