Pakistan’s Foreign Office, on Wednesday, called on a senior Indian diplomat to lodge its strong protest against continuous Indian ceasefire violations (CFVs) at Line of Control (LoC)
Indian troops have resorted to indiscriminate cross border shelling that has resulted in several civilian casualties and injuries of Pakistani citizens living near border areas.
Earlier, two civilians, 45 years old Roqaya Begum and 60 years old Sarwar Bibi were injured due to indiscriminate firing by Indian forces in Rakhchikri sector.
Unprovoked and indiscriminate cross border shelling by Indian forces is an abhorrent violation of 2003 Ceasefire agreement signed between the two countries.
Pakistan has called upon the Indian government to allow the United Nations Military Observer Group to visit various areas along the LoC and play the role it’s been assigned to perform i.e. to ensure de-escalation along Pak-India border for sustainable peace aiming at the safety of people living in border areas of India and Pakistan.
The Foreign Office has maintained its stance that it will not allow India to divert attention from its grave human rights violations and anti-Muslim policies in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir by ceasefire violations along LoC.
