The United States and Russia have warned each other that an escalation of tensions over Ukraine could rupture relations between the two countries.
This comes after US President Joe Biden and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin held a telephonic conversation.
In a statement, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said President Biden has clarified that the United States and its allies and partners will respond decisively if Russia further invades Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the Russian officials say President Putin told Biden that any sanctions could rupture bilateral ties and would be a big mistake.
