Pakistan has strongly condemned Israeli attack on Palestinian worshipers inside Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement, Pakistan has denounced recent violent attacks carried out by the Israeli Occupation Forces on the worshippers and the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied territories and urges the international community for prompt action to protect the Palestinians.
Such attacks are against all humanitarian norms and human rights laws, said MoFA.
Expressing solidarity with Palestinians, Pakistan has also reiterated its principle stance and support for the Government and people of the State of Palestine in their just demands for their basic rights and equality.
Pakistan also renews its call for the establishment of a viable, independent and contiguous Palestinian State, on the basis of the internationally agreed parameters on the pre-1967 borders and Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, added the press-release.
The condemnation follows as earlier, Israeli police forcefully evacuated Muslim worshippers to clear the way for the Jewish visitors in one of the most sensitive venues in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
The Israeli security forces launched tear gas and fired rubber-coated steel bullets at worshippers at Islam’s third holiest site in occupied East Jerusalem.
The site of the Al-Aqsa Mosque is known to Muslims as al-Haram al-Sharif, or the Noble Sanctuary, while Jews refer to the place of worship as the Temple Mount.
The incident took place two days ahead of Eid-ul-Azha celebrated by Muslims, and on the eve of their annual Hajj pilgrimage.
