Punjab government has announced its decision to form a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate Lahore’s Jojar Town blast.
As per details, Punjab government will be constituting a five-member JIT to probe into Johar Town blast that killed three and injured more than two dozen people in Lahore on June 23rd last month.
The JIT will be headed by a DIG rank officer and will submit its report after interviewing the apprehended suspects within a period of 15 days.
Johar Town Blast Case
A deadly car bomb rocked Lahore’s Johar Town on June 23rd last month, killing three people and injuring around two dozen others.
A case was registered in CTD Lahore police station on the complaint of SHO Abid Baig. The FIR included 7ATA, 3/4 Explosives Act, 302, 324, 148/149 and other serious provisions.
Security agencies arrested another key suspect from Rawalpindi who allegedly parked the explosive-laden vehicle in Lahore’s Johar Town last week.
During investigation, the suspect named Eid Gul revealed that he was living with his family in Jhang from Waziristan and spent a lot of time in Rawalpindi with his brothers for work and had come in contact Peter Paul David a few years back.
LEAs also apprehended a mechanic suspected of being a facilitator in the terrorist attack and who purportedly ‘prepared’ the explosive-laden vehicle used in the incident.
A woman named Kiran was also taken in custody from Lahore upon the information given by Peter Paul David, another suspect who is the owner of the car used in the terrorist attack. another meanwhile, another suspected terrorist Sajjad Hussain was arrested from Mandi Bahauddin last week. The suspect has reportedly admitted to facilitating in shifting the black sedan used in the terrorist attack.
So far, ten Pakistani nationals have been arrested in Johar Town blast case.
