Imran Yaqoob Minhas has been appointed as new Karachi Police Chief on Monday (today).
According to the notification issued by Services, General, Administration and Coordination Department, Imran Yaqoob Minhas, officer of Police Service of Pakistan (BS-21) has been appointed as Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi Range.
The newly appointed Karachi Police Chief has replaced his predecessor Ghulam Nabi Memon, PSP (BS-21) who has been appointed as AIG Special Branch Sindh.

Imran Yaqoob Minhas joined the civil services back in 1999 in the 19th Common Course. During his service in Police Service of Pakistan, he has served in Punjab, Balochistan and Sindh.
Furthermore, Imran Yaqoob Minhas has previously also served as town police officer, Clifton, DIG West, Karachi, DIG Traffic, Karachi, inspector general jails, Karachi, and then additional inspector general of police, special branch Sindh.
