Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met with his Saudi Counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and mulled over bilateral relations and future cooperation.
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), during the meeting FM Qureshi paid tribute to King Salman bin Abdulaziz – the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and praised His Majesty’s visionary leadership resulting in kingdom’s progress and development.
Both foreign ministers reiterated mutual desire to further strengthen cordial relations between the two countries and explored prospects of cooperation in diverse areas including trade, investment, infrastructure, energy, tourism and manpower in future as well.
They also welcomed the recent signing of the Agreement on Establishing Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council (SPSCC).
Shah Mahmood Qureshi also accentuated the notable contributions of Pakistani diaspora in Saudi Arabia and stressed upon the need to further strengthen people-to-people relations between the two nations.
The foreign minister also underscored prevailing situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) and blatant human rights violations by the Indian forces in the disputed valley.
FM Qureshi also renewed official invitation to Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to visit Pakistan, which was graciously accepted by the Saudi foreign minister.
It is to be noted that FM Qureshi is accompanying the PM Imran Khan on his official three-day visit to Saudi Arabia.
