Federal government has approved the issuance of an especial commemorative coin to mark the hundred years of NED University’s establishment.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting – Fawad Chaudhry has announced that the federal government has approved the issuance of an especial commemorative coin to mark 100 years of founding of Karachi’s NED University.
The federal minister also lauded and felicitated NED University’s faculty, Vice Chancellor current and former students for their remarkable work over the years.
The NED University has done a tremendous job, said Fawad Chaudhry.
Founded in 1921 as Prince of Wales Engineering College, NED University is named after Nadirshaw Edulji Dinshaw. Initially a college, the institution was granted the status of university and was taken over by Sindh government in 1947.
University’s existing form came into being in 1977 as ED University of Engineering & Technology. As per university’s 2019-2020 annual report, the institution is offering a total of ninety-three (93) programmes through six faculties (06) and twenty-six (26) departments. There are eighteen (18) PhD, forty-seven (47) Masters and twenty-eight (28) undergraduate programmes on offer.
