Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday (today) took to social media to share pictures of first-ever winter ski traverse at Deosai plains.
The premier stressed upon the need to explore, utilize and benefit from country’s unique winter tourism potential and analyze ski resorts feasibility in the northern areas.

Deosai Plains are situated at an average elevation of 4,114 meters (13,497 ft) above sea level and considered as the second highest plateaus in the world.
Government of Pakistan has established Deosai National Park – a high-altitude alpine plain (plateau) in the Northern Pakistan region of Astore district Gilgit.
As per United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Deosai plains hosts the only stable population in the region.
It is to be noted that PM Imran Khan led PTI government has especially focused on increasing country’s tourism potential via facilitating tourism industry with primary focus on Pakistan’s northern areas which are widely popular for their scenic beauty and captivating landscapes.
