Pakistan’s COVID-19 positivity ratio reached 8.05% on Friday (today). This is the first time COVID-19 positivity ratio has been this high since 2020 last year.
As per the NCOC statistics; 42,845 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 3,449 came back positive, whereas the country reported 40 coroanvirus-related casualties during this period.
Meanwhile, Karachi’s COVID-19 positivity ratio stands at 5.16% with 137 cases being reported in the city during the last 24 hours.
A district-wise distribution of Karachi’s COVID-19 situation is as follows;
- District East – 62,382 cases; 1,173 deaths
- District South – 45,763 cases; 597 deaths
- District Central – 25,741 cases; 827 deaths
- District Malir – 15,065 cases; 213 deaths
- District Korangi – 14,889 cases; 484 deaths
- District West – 14,486 cases; 389 deaths
Pakistan is witnessing its third COVID-19 wave with authorities imposing smart lockdowns in concerned areas along with strict implementation of COVID-19 SOPs and preventive measures.
Pakistan’s total COVID-19 tally stands at 619,259 cases with 13,757 deaths so far. A total of 578,314 people have successfully recovered from the novel virus whereas 2,064 are still in critical condition.
