Islamabad: The federal government has appointed Nausheen Javed as the new head of Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) – replacing Shabbar Zaidi.
The federal cabinet’s decision to replace Shabbar Zaidi as Chairman FBR comes after the head of Federal Board of Revenue had taken an indefinite leave in February, due to health issues.
Zaidi had been appointed as the 26th chairman of the FBR by the Imran Khan government. While serving as the head of FBR he had introduced the Asset Declaration Scheme, which was termed as one of the most effective and successful asset declaration scheme of Pakistan.
His replacement, Nausheen Javed Amjad, a BS-22 officer from Inland Revenue Service (IRS), has been appointed as the new chairperson of FBR after the approval from federal cabinet.
