Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has released a special song titled ‘Aik Qaum, Aik Manzil’ to commemorate Pakistan Day celebrated each year on March 23rd.
The three-minute song includes vocals from Ali Zafar and Aima Baig. The song has been composed by Ali Zafar, whereas it’s lyrics are credited to Abid Hassan. Song’s video starts with lines from Quaid-e-Azam’s speech regarding past and future sacrifices for Pakistan; it then pays tribute to notable Pakistanis who have made major contributions for Pakistan.
The song also celebrates Pakistan’s rich cultural and religious diversity and fraternity. It commemorates the adoption of the Pakistan resolution by the All India Muslim League at the Minar-e-Pakistan that called for establishing an independent federation comprising provinces with Muslim majority located in north-western and north-eastern region of British controlled territories in India (excluding autonomous princely States) on 23rd March 1940.
The day holds distinguished significance as on this day a resolution was passed saying that Muslims in India wanted independence and separate homeland and they were persecuted in India. Since then, the day is celebrated annually throughout the country as a public holiday. The Pakistan Armed Forces usually hold a military parade to celebrate the event.
Each year ‘Pakistan Day Parade’ is held in federal capital Islamabad which includes in contingents from Pakistan Army, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Pakistan Navy (PN). The parade is a noteworthy display of Pakistan’s military power – a key deterrent to nation’s adversaries.
