Corruption has increased in Pakistan during the year 2020, says Transparency International in its report regarding corruption index across the globe.
As per details, according to Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) report for year 2020 reveals an increase in corruption in Pakistan.
As per the CPI report, Pakistan ranks 124 out of 180 countries with a score of 31/100.
Pakistan has experienced a degradation of four places as it was ranked at 120 in the year 2019 in Transparency International’s CPI report, whereas the country secured 117th position in 2018.
Pakistan has scored less than last year on two parameters namely rule of law index and varieties of democracy, said Sohail Muzaffar – Transparency International Pakistan Chairperson.
New Zealand and Denmark have jointly secured the first position followed by Finland, Switzerland, Singapore and Sweden at third place.
United States of America (USA) and United Kingdom are on 25th and 11th position respectively.
Neighboring Afghanistan is ranked 165/180 with a CPI score of 19.
