Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced a curfew for individuals younger than 20 and older than 65, along with a travel ban for 31 major provinces as the country intensifies its lockdown directives to curb the virus spread.
All kind of travel has been banned for Turkey’s 30 major provinces, and the Zonguldak province where pulmonary disease is widespread due to the coalmining industry. Vehicles have been barred from entering into cities for the next 15 days.

“We have decided to bring partial curfew into effect for people under the age of 20. The shutdown of city borders will be in effect for 15 days initially. However, this period can be extended if necessary,” said the president.
In addition to it, the wearing of face masks in crowded areas, including stores has also been deemed mandatory.
So far, Turkey has reported around 20,921 confirmed coronavirus cases with 425 deaths.
