Health and education ministers of both federal government and provincial governments are set to meet to tomorrow to decide over reopening of schools with respect to COVID-19 situation in the country.
Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood took to social media to announce that health and education will meet tomorrow to mull over reopening of schools amid COVID-19 situation in the country.
Shafqat Mahmood stressed that the decision to reopen schools will be primarily based on health concerns.
“I desperately want education to continue the final decision will be on health grounds,” said the federal education minister.

The development comes as earlier; federal government had announced step-wise reopening of educational institutions from January 18th
As per the January 4th decision of inter-provincial education ministers’ meeting, students of 9-12 grade will be allowed to go to educational institutions from January 18th, followed by students of grade 1-8 who will be allowed to attend schools from January 25th.
Meanwhile, universities along with other higher education institutions are to be opened from February 1st across the country.
