Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday (today) reassured strict actions against perpetrators of Mach incident and announced to visit and meet the grieving families ‘soon’.
In a statement issued on social media platform, PM Imran Khan stated that he is aware of the pain caused by the heinous terrorist attack in Mach and the demands of grieving families.
We are taking steps to prevent such attacks in the future and know our neighbor is instigating this sectarian terrorism, said PM Imran Khan.
The premier reiterated that he shares Hazara community’s pain and will soon visit and meet them in near future.
I will come again very soon to offer prayers and condole with all the families personally. I will never betray my people’s trust. Please bury your loved ones so their souls find peace, he said.
The Prime Minister also requested the Hazara community to bury their martyrs.
Earlier, Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan had also requested the Hazara community to bury their dead.
Meanwhile, Federal Interior Ministers including Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Ali Zaidi along with SAPM Zulfi Bukhari have all attempted to negotiate with the protesters, but failed to persuade them to disperse and bury their dead.
Mach Incident
At least 11 coal miners were killed in the Mach area of Balochistan on Sunday after armed militants kidnapped them and took them to a nearby area before opening fire at close range.
Ten people who were killed in the incident belonged from Hazara community – an ethnic minority which has continuously been targeted by terrorist organizations in Balochistan.
Following the attack, members of the Hazara community in Quetta blocked the Western Bypass and set fire to tyres to protest against the killings.
Victims’ families have refused to bury their loved ones and have staged a sit-in on along with the dead bodies.
