Pakistan on Monday, summoned senior Indian diplomat to register protest against ceasefire violations (CFVs) by Indian forces along Line of Control (LoC).
According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), a senior Indian diplomat was summoned to register Pakistan’s strong protest over ceasefire violations by the Indian Occupation Forces along the Line of Control (LoC) on 13th December 2020, resulting in serious injuries to two innocent civilians.
Due to indiscriminate and unprovoked firing by the Indian occupation forces in Chirikot Sector of the LoC, Nasreen Akhtar – 19, resident of Kakota village, and Shoukat, resident of Chaffer village sustained serious injuries.
“Egregious violations of international law reflect consistent Indian attempts to escalate the situation along the LoC and are a threat to regional peace and security,” said MoFA.
Indian forces along LoC and Working Boundary have committed 2,970 ceasefire violations (CFVs) this year so far.
The unprovoked and indiscriminate cross-border shelling has resulted in 27 casualties and injuring 249 civilians on the Pakistani side.
Pakistan has urged India to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding and allow the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) to play its mandated role as per the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions.
