Department of Literacy and Non-formal Basic Education was witness to the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) among the institute and ‘Alight Pakistan’.
Nadeem Mehboob represented the literacy department of Punjab and Iftikhar Lone represented Alight Pakistan.
Addressing the occasion, Mehboob said that the partnership will ensure education for almost one million children who are currently out of school.
“Millions of impoverished families will reap benefits of the project which will be a ray of light for the hopeless.”
“Children are the future of this nation and we are committed to invest in them, we are looking to inculcate skill based, non-formal education in them and then bring them towards curriculum based education,” said Nadeem Mehboob.
Mehboob added that actions to bring more children under the framework to increase the country’s literacy are underway.
