Sindh government on Thursday, announced its decision to allow markets to remain open till 8 pm after traders, business community demanded relief in COVID-19 restrictions.
Sindh government spokesperson – Murtaza Wahab took to social media to announce the relief in COVID-19 restrictions revealing that markets and business centers across Sindh will be allowed to remain open till 8 pm.

“This is to inform that markets in Sindh will remain open till 8 PM. It is again expected from the market associations, shop owners and citizens that due regard to SOPs shall be observed & everyone including the shopkeeper and visitor shall wear a mask,” he tweeted.
The development comes as earlier, traders and business community had voiced their concerns regarding new COVID-19 restrictions and SOPs which forced them to shutdown by 6 pm.
Various trade unions such as Karachi Electronics Dealers Association (KEDA), Sindh Tajir Ittehad had urged the government to ease coronavirus restrictions and operational timings of markets and business centers.
CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah on Thursday, announced that 1,402 COVID-19 cases were reported in the province in the last 24 hours along with 19 casualties taking the total provincial death toll to 2,885.
Sindh has reported highest coronavirus tally in the country with 167,381 cases of which 17,585 are active patients.
