Secretary Local Government, Housing and Town Planning Sindh Najam Ahmad Shah termed the delay in the ongoing development works in the province as absolutely unbearable, here on Wednesday.
In a high-level review meeting held at his office, Najam Ahmad Shah said that unless there is a sense of responsibility among officers and contractors to fulfill their responsibilities, timely completion of public benefit projects is not possible. The meeting was attended by Special Secretary Technical Syed Muhammad Taha, Khalid Mahmood Sheikh from Public Private Partnership and various experts.
Briefing the Sindh Local Government Secretary on the occasion, it was informed that the development progress taking place in different areas of the city is progressing in full swing as per his instructions.
Najam Ahmad Shah, while instructing the participants in the meeting, said that unnecessary delay and undue length should be avoided in any public welfare project and timely completion of all construction projects is the real success and Sindh Local Government Department.
Later, a panel of experts also briefed the Secretary Local Government Sindh on the graphical progress of the ongoing projects, on which Najam Ahmad Shah ordered them to speed up and improve the pace of work.
At the end of the meeting, the Secretary Local Government of Sindh specifically directed the panel of experts and officers to prepare and submit the final report after completing all the necessary procedures and preparations before the next meeting on the basis of which further important decisions were implemented.
