Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday, allowed media outlets and institutions to report on court proceedings.
The court in its order, citing right to information under the constitution of Pakistan, ruled that media can report on court proceedings as such restrictions are violation of the basic constitutional rights provisioned in the constitution.
A two-member bench Chief Justice of LHC on Tuesday, heard a plea filed against Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority’s (PEMRA) ban against reporting of case proceedings, specifically motorway rape case.
